Daisy Farms Limited, Asaba-Delta
36kVA solar power plant for a poultry farm.
The Challenge
Daisy Farms relied on one 80kVA diesel generators to power poultry houses, feed mills, borehole pumps, industrial fans, foggers and staff residence. Diesel costs averaged ₦2.1 million monthly, and the farm was located far from the national grid with no prospect of grid connection.
Frequent generator use in order to meet with the poultry's energy demand, directly impacting revenue.
Our Solution
We deployed a 36kVA hybrid solar system with 52.5kWh battery storage, designed to handle the farm's mixed load of continuous ventilation, foggers and water pumps.
The system integrates 40 solar panels, a 36kVA hybrid inverter system with grid-forming capability, and modular lithium battery banks that can be expanded as the farm grows.
How We Delivered
Farm Energy Audit
We measured load profiles for poultry houses, feed mills, and cold rooms to size the system accurately.
Modular System Design
A 36kVA hybrid system designed for expansion, with battery slots for doubling storage as operations scale.
Installation & Commissioning
Three-week installation with minimal disruption to daily farm operations and livestock handling.
Training & Support
Farm staff trained on monitoring app and basic maintenance. 24/7 remote monitoring activated.
Results
- check_circle Complete elimination of diesel purchases for farm operations.
- check_circle Battery bank designed for easy expansion as the farm adds new poultry houses.
- check_circle Eliminated generator noise and fumes in staff living quarters and processing areas.
System Specifications
Our farm is finally free from diesel. The solar system handles our poultry houses and cold storage without issue. We are already planning expansion with ZangoSolar.
