Emadeb Filling Station, Lekki-Lagos
15kVA solar installation for high-traffic fuel retail operations in Lagos.
The Challenge
The Lekki station faced even higher diesel costs than the Ibadan location due to Lagos grid instability. The 50kVA generator ran about 10+ hours daily, consuming over ₦1.2 million in diesel each month.
Coastal humidity and salt air were accelerating generator corrosion, increasing maintenance costs and downtime frequency.
Our Solution
A 15kVA hybrid solar system with anti-corrosion components and 30kWh battery storage. All electrical enclosures are IP65-rated to resist salt air and humidity.
The 20-panel canopy installation matches the Ibadan design for brand consistency while delivering equivalent power output in Lekki's coastal conditions.
How We Delivered
Coastal Climate Assessment
Specialised survey accounting for salt air, humidity, and high wind loads.
Anti-Corrosion Design
Marine-grade aluminium mounts and sealed electrical enclosures selected.
Installation
Two-week installation with full weatherproofing and grounding.
Performance Validation
30-day monitoring period confirmed output targets met despite coastal cloud cover.
Results
- check_circle Immediate and complete elimination of diesel dependency for station operations.
- check_circle Anti-corrosion design eliminates frequent generator repairs caused by salt air.
- check_circle Matching canopy solar arrays reinforce Emadeb's commitment to sustainability.
- check_circle Neighbouring businesses and residents no longer exposed to generator exhaust.
System Specifications
Lagos diesel costs were killing our margins. The solar system pays for itself quickly, and the quality materials gives us confidence it will last in this coastal environment.
